However, the London club is currently struggling to replicate that success. In the Champions League, Bayern Munich suffered a 1-2 home defeat against Lyon on the very first matchday, while in the Women's Super League, they are already six points behind first place after eight matchdays. The Munich women's team has only lost one competitive match this season but it was a heavy defeat. They suffered a 1-7 loss away to Barcelona on the opening day of the Champions League group stage.
